We have a small California (Sunny San Carlos) backyard in which we are able to grow a variety of herbs and vegetables. We cook from the garden constantly. There are few things in life better than eating what one has grown- and while the reward is huge, the commitment is simple. One or two full (full-ish, with breaks and beverages) weekend days, and then some simple maintenance, and you are there. Remember the acronym LAWS, and you can’t go wrong: Light, Air, Water, Soil. Provide your plants with those four fundamentals, and growth will happen.
Borrowing from an old friend: grow flowers, not senile.
